Moving on ...

Professional football has a special place in our home. With Denise being a Philadelphia Eagles fan and me being a New York Giants fan, some might liken it to the grotesqueness of the ESPN commercial from a few years ago where the Ohio State fan and Michigan fan couple needing to "get a room" or perhaps a Boston Red Sox fan marrying a New York Yankees fan. Wait a minute. That would never happen!

Nevertheless, here we are happily married and able to share in one of the great American past-times ... poking fun at each other's respective teams. This year's NFL post-season goes to the Eagle's fan of the house and despite being short-lived given their loss to the Cardinals this past Sunday, I will still have submit to the an entire off-season of a #1 seed losing to the #6 seed. Adding injury to insult - I even lost a wager with my brother-in-law on the game resulting in me submitting to 4-hours of manual labor at their new home. In a word - despicable. Although, I may have my revenge come October at the rate the Yankees are buying up talent.

Thus, we move on. College basketball, Major League Baseball (pitchers and catchers in just a few short weeks), and hopefully another fierce rivalry will provide for some entertaining sports viewing opportunities until then we'll just have to sit by and cheer for my Dad's beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
